From the gated entrance, you know you've entered somewhere very special. A world of emerald green lush landscaping surrounds you on your shaded drive to the lobby entrance.

As you enter the main lobby area you are initially greeted by the doorman, followed by the general manger of the resort who welcomes you as you are escorted to one of several reception areas where you check-in. You are immediately offered a choice of fresh lemonade, champagne or an exotic fruit punch served on a silver tray. I suggest the champagne, as you are about to embark on a very relaxing yet very expensive stay at this fabulous resort.

After check in you are escorted to your room where your luggage will be waiting for you. You will get a glimpse of the beauty of the gardens that surround the Ocean Club as you find your way to your room, suite or cottage

The rooms are oversized and tastefully appointed with elegant furnishings and fabrics. Our room had a private patio with an excellent view of the lawns and walkways leading to the ocean.

When you enter the pool area and discover the spectacular gardens of the Ocean Club inspired by the romantic grandeur of Versailles you will be amazed. For as far as the eye can see there are magnificent gardens, marble and bronze statues reminiscent of a time gone by. As you climb stone steps you will find yourself under the magnificent marble arches of a 12-century Augustinian with breathtaking views of the Nassau Harbour, the gardens and the resort.

The Ocean Club is aptly named as it's close proximity to the ocean and it's beautiful stretch of beach provides guests with crystal clear waters and unobstructed views. Comfortable lounge chairs with sun cover are provided as well as a service flag for you to raise when you want to order a beverage or beachside lunch. During the afternoon you will be treated to a light sorbet to wake up your taste buds. Casual dining is available at the Beach Grill & Bar overlooking the ocean.

The resorts most popular and spectacular restaurant The Dunes features both indoor and outdoor dining overlooking and the menu features exotic local and international foods. The fresh grouper and lobster were among our favorites.

You can also choose to dine al fresco in the Courtyard Terrace restaurant under the sun or stars. This romantic garden setting features beautiful gardens, lighting featuring a selection of epicurean delights.

Ocean Club is located on Paradise Island but you would never know it until the shuttle bus from Atlantis arrives. Sun International is the owner of both resorts. This is the only criticism I have of this resort. Why they would share this intimate and private oasis with the more resort guests of the more popular Atlantis resort makes no sense. It is two very different vacation experiences. The Ocean Club guests deserve the serenity and beauty of what they are paying for. Atlantis is a wildly popular hotel with a completely different attract that simply does not make it a good mix.
