The Theory
Travel. It has been at the heart of human existence since the first of us headed out in search of sustenance. Travel continues to sustain us now, millennia after that first trip into the world. It offers opportunities for new experiences, revitalizes our sometimes tired senses, and creates fresh and sensual worlds for each and every one of us each time we travel.

At the heart of the travel experience is the shared bond of travelers, whether or not they have ever met, or even traveled to the same places. The experience of travel binds travelers together. We have all been, however briefly, strangers in a strange land at one time or another in our lives, and we share the need to make ourselves a part of the lands we visit-not as outside observers but as active participants in the journeys we embark upon. We share the laughter, the tears, the joys and the excitement of those with whom we travel, those who came before us, and those we have not yet met.

Romance. Now imagine, if you have not yet experienced the sensation first-hand, that you share this experience of travel with the person to whom you have given your heart and soul, the person you love the most in the world. The joy of the journey increases exponentially, and it is to telling this experience, and to sustaining it, that Romance & Travel magazine is dedicated.

The Practice
Both travel and romance are experiences that do not succeed without forethought, planning and, let's face it, hard work and sensitivity. So while Romance & Travel magazine's ultimate goal is to capture the joys of romantic travel, we also provide the up-to-date information readers need to plan their trips. You'll find everything from rates, dates, phone numbers and Web sites to romantic packing checklists, tips on keeping the flame burning, and other hints for making every trip a couple takes together a romantic one, whether it's business, a family vacation, or a weekend getaway.
